About that Socialist Utopia

A Facebook friend and author Brad Torgersen, posted the following:

It was a good first pass at it. I’d say the Socialists would be lucky if they ended up like this.

After comments about accuracy of this graphic, Brad then posted the following:

And this is perhaps more accurate. The Socialist Utopia requires a labor class, especially indentured slave labor. This is where political dissidents and other “malcontents” end up. Somebody has to actually do the work and it will be “those” people.

Brad’s smart followers added some additional discussion and he came up with this:

Yeah, this is perhaps the most accurate, based on historical precedence. People like me will be put up against the wall immediately. We will be closely followed by the “useful idiots”. The college professors, social activists, the muscle on the street, and anybody else who was able to bring about the Utopia will also be eliminated. These people are dangerous to the new order and when they realize the truth, will try to undo everything.

The Socialists always think they will be at the top of the pyramid. All too soon, a new dictatorial political class will rise and take over. Historically, this is what always happens.

Go ask the Venezuelans.

The New Blog

After some suggestions from friends, I’ve decided to place my random thinking here. This blog will primarily be focused on politics and policy, with random bits thrown in for fun.

Of course, I might change direction on it. That’s how it goes.

Why Opus Libertas? Well to be honest, I wanted a liberty or freedom themed name for the new blog. Guess what? Those are pretty much all taken! So, I figured I’d turn to Latin for some inspiration.

Opus Libertas – Freedom to Work

It isn’t perfect, but I like it.
