Why are the Democrats so interested in having a President Pence?

First off, “Impeach Trump” is a tool to motivate their base and that’s directly related to fund raising and getting re-elected. They campaigned on it, so they need to at least pay lip service to it.

If he’s impeached in the House, it will die in the Senate. It is really pointless. Except…

It makes for something to bash Trump with in 2020. “After all, do you want a President who was impeached?”. I can see the political ads now.
